Shared inertance tube multi-stage pulse tube refrigerator

Abstract:Shared inertance tube multi-stage pulse tube refrigerator driven by a step piston compressor has the advantage for getting lower refrigeration temperature. In general, the lower the refrigeration temperature is, the lower the expansion power of the pulse tube is, and the lower the phase shifting ability is, then the lower the refrigeration efficiency is. The step piston generates several compression spaces, each compression space connects one stage, all pulse tube connects to one inertance tube. The function of the step piston is to distribute input power to each stage, and to re-distribute the phase shifting ability to each stage with phase adjusting buffer. An inertance tube which is shared by all pulse tube can generate bigger phase shifting ability and the lower temperature stage can get phase shifting ability ratio more than its expansion power ratio, so that it could get lower refrigeration temperature. The refrigerator is discussed theoretically.
