Abstract:
As an excitation power supply for the superconducting coil magnet, the combination of a current amplification circuit with a multiple chopper circuit installed in the cryostat and using the latest power semiconductor technology, and a coil short-circuit control with multiple parallel MOSFETs with an on-resistance of 1 mΩ or less. We are developing a product, and we will explain the outline of it.
With this technology, the current capacity of the external power supply for excitation can be reduced to a fraction of the coil current under the condition that the excitation current of the superconducting coil magnet can be changed at all times. The size of the normal current lead can be reduced to a fraction of the size, and combined with the above-mentioned short circuit control circuit, the current supply is almost unnecessary except when charging, greatly reducing the heat entering the cryostat. We also decided to reduce the cooling load and save energy in the power supply.
