Abstract:Influence of shielding-current induced fields (SCIFs) on the field quality of iron-dominated HTS magnets were only investigated in few experimental researches. Previous researches usually assumed the influence of SCIFs are negligible in iron-dominated HTS magnets, but this assumption should be supported by quantitative estimation.
We developed a practical analysis method to estimate SCIFs in iron-dominated HTS magnets. Then, we conducted numerical analyses on a superferric magnet (an iron-dominated HTS magnet) for rapid cycling synchrotron using the developed analysis method. Influence of SCIF on the field quality of the superferric magnet was discussed based on analyses results.
