Abstract:One of the problems to be solved when designing a new superconducting power transmission line is to reduce the size of the terminal. This will reduce not only the price of the apparatus, but also the heat load. Furthermore, an additional economic effect will give some reduction in the machine building area. The report will justify the need to use Peltier current leads (PCL) to improve the efficiency of the HTS DC line and a way to reduce the size of the terminal, taking into account the experience gained during the operation of the test facility in Ishikari.
