Measurement system and cooling process of a 200 m HTS DC cable

Abstract:A new 200 m high temperature superconductive (HTS) cable test facility was constructed at Chubu University recently. The test facility consists of cryogenics, vacuum system, superconductive cable, control and measurement system. A KEITHLEY data acquisition system with 600 channels was developed to record various type data of the test facility. After construction of the facility finished at the beginning of 2010, we started the 1st cooling down of the facility, and the temperatures of the whole cable reached at the liquid nitrogen temperature within two weeks. In this paper, we will report the cooling process of the facility with this measurement system.
