Structure and Jc properties of MgB2 wires fabricated by an internal Mg diffusion process

Abstract:One of the promising methods to obtain high Jc MgB2 wires is an internal Mg diffusion method. In our recent study, excellent Jc of 81kA/cm2 and 99kA/cm2 at 4.2K and 10T were obtained for mono-core and multi-core wires by applying this internal Mg diffusion process. In this paper we discuss Jc values in connection with microstructure.
