A measurement system for a new 200 m DC superconducting power cable

Abstract:A new 200m DC superconducting power transmission (DC-SCPT) cable is under construction at Chubu University. In order to monitor this large system, a graphical user interface (GUI) system based on LabVIEW will be made. Around 550 sensors such as voltage taps, thermocouples, resistive thermometers, vacuum gauges, flow meter, pressure gauges and level meters are utilized. A data acquisition system having 600 channels will be built and the sampling time is about one second. At the same time, the data queue for all the sensors are continuously saved for a long time running. We will present the development of this monitoring system.
