In the work we investigated AC magnetization power losses in YBCO-123 coated conductors when subjected to transverse external magnetic field directed perpendicular to the tape’s plane. One of the methods for reducing power losses in such conditions is “filamentarisation” of a coated conductor by a striation process. We present here some experimental results related to lowering magnetization losses in different tapes which were successively striated to form of four, eight and sixteen strips configurations.
