The helium refrigerator/liquefier operation for the LHD with a dummyload apparatus has been conducted under four different refrigerationconditioins which similate refrigeration requirements as subscale basis.Each mode was successfully demonstrated under semi-automatic control ofrefrigeration system. Instabilities were observed during the operation. Themechanism of instabilities are fairly complex and will be discussed.
